In addition, we will encourage these families to let you know how they are doing by either writing letters or emailing them. And if you want a more hands-on experience, it might be helpful for you to buy something small like shampoo or toothpaste each month so that it arrives at the same time as their food package.

Two people can help one family – which saves the individual from having to decide where their limited funds would go. Together, your monthly donations will provide for your assigned family – keeping them provided with plenty of food until they are able to get back on their feet again.

Help a struggling, working poor family who do not meet the requirements of some poverty relief programs because they are just over the federal poverty level. Give them an opportunity to better their lives through your automatic monthly donations.

Start a group of community-minded families. Reach out to at least four other people through your social media contacts–friends, family, and members of your church–to form this charitable organization and band together to provide food for those less fortunate than you are. Each month one member from each household will volunteer to buy an assortment of staple foods from the grocery store; enough to fill up a shopping cart full of boxes which can then be distributed among those who need it most.
